PLAY BETTER - STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING TIP OF THE WEEK

Welcome to the fourth installment of the Train Like A Pro newsletter. We have had a huge response to the newsletter. The Hockey Specific Training manual for $59.99 has been an extremely popular item. The manual is jam packed with great training information, pictures, motivational techniques, nutritional guidelines and much more. Train Like a Pro has just been named the official strength and conditioning company to the prestigious prospects tournament held at Etobicoke Icesports. We will be running seminars, answering questions and demonstrating the many variables that make up a complete strength and conditioning program.
As mentioned in the second newsletter, we will be opening our online store very soon. We will be carrying all the products we feel are beneficial to the aspiring hockey player. Training manuals will be available online as well as great supplements, stretching programs etc Train Like a Pro will also be running power skating and skill work on the ice to compliment our top notch off ice programs. Players from the NHL, AHL, European Leagues, OHL, Us college and minor hockey players will all be present. As we expand our facility we will be looking to target full teams who want to train together. This is a great way to keep the team together while receiving the best training available.
Here are a few nutritional tips to help you out:
1) Make sure to consume high glycemix carbohydrates as well as proteins with in an hour after a game, practice or training session. This will help your body recover and also lead to greater gain s in strength and lean muscle mass.
2) To keep your body in an anabolic state, eat 5-6 meals a day. A nutrition plan rich in high quality carbohydrates, proteins and healthful fats is essential to reaching your potential as a player.
EXERCISE OF THE WEEK

IRON CROSS- 2 sets of 10 reps. This exercise is great for building full body, functional strength so vital in hockey.
